Meet the Team
Our Revolution Dance Competition founders!
Co-founder
Nikki Dawson
Co-founder of REVOLUTION DANCE COMPETITION.
Nikki is a fully qualified ISTD teacher, Dance School Owner, Principal, and proud mum with over 20 years of dance teaching experience. Having danced since the age of 4, studying ISTD Tap, Modern, Jazz & Ballet as a child, she has a lifelong connection to the industry, competing extensively in festivals and competitions herself before going on to successfully train and enter her own students.
Nikki brings a diverse range of experience from across the entertainment industry. She has worked for numerous record labels, organised tours at the Royal Albert Hall and at venues across the UK and Ireland, contributed to and worked both on TV and radio, is also a qualified Zumba instructor, and choreographer. Alongside this, she is always organising small competitions, shows, and charity events, always driven by her passion for creating opportunities within dance.
She brings energy, dedication, and heart to everything she does. Committed to inclusivity & celebrating individuality, Nikki champions equal access and believes every dancer deserves the chance to perform and compete. With a deep love for the stage, she is devoted to nurturing talent, building confidence, and creating a supportive environment where lifelong friendships and passion can flourish through dance.

Paula Treadaway
Co-founder of REVOLUTION DANCE COMPETITION.
With a background as a qualified primary teacher and former Head of School, Paula brings a wealth of experience in education, leadership, and working with young people to Revolution Dance. As a tuition business owner and proud dance mum, she understands both the educational and personal journeys that support children in building confidence and expressing themselves.
Throughout her career, Paula has led and organised talent shows and whole-school productions, creating opportunities for students to perform, grow in confidence, and celebrate their individuality. These experiences have shaped her passion for providing platforms where every child feels encouraged to step forward and shine.
Paula is deeply committed to creating an inclusive and supportive environment where all performers feel valued and celebrated. At the heart of Revolution Dance is her dedication to promoting equality, building community, and ensuring that every individual—regardless of background or ability—has the opportunity to showcase their talent and be part of something special.
Entry Levels
TWO BEGINNER LEVELS
We have 2 beginner categories. One especially for dancers who are brand new to competitions and have never competed before. The second is a normal novice category for dancers who may have limited competition experience and have not previously placed in this dance style but may have danced in competitions previously.
ADVANCED / OPEN LEVEL
Participants in this category are often seasoned performers, who have placed in previous competitions. Judges evaluate not only technical proficiency but also the emotional connection and stage presence of each dancer, making this category a thrilling spectacle for both participants and audiences.
SEND Category
Our SEND category celebrates the unique talents and abilities of dancers with diverse needs. Participants are encouraged to express themselves through movement, showcasing creativity and passion in a supportive environment. This category promotes inclusivity and highlights the joy of dance, allowing each dancer to shine in their own way. Join us celebrating the artistry and determination of all performers in this category! We encourage dance schools to get in touch with us as soon as possible to discuss the students individual needs so we can try to cater for them in the best way possible.
